Academic Structure

The school is organized in such a way that the pre-Primary wing which houses the Nursery and Kindergarten evolves into the middle school, which in turn evolves into the senior school. Not all children learn the exact same things at the exact same time in the exact same way. The learning needs and learning styles of each individual students are different, so the curriculum approach of the school for children between the ages of 3-6 years is based on the Montessori methods, at the same time the education system is structured as in a Kindergarten. In practice the curriculum is based around the theory of Multiple-intelligence. The education that is gained at this age becomes the foundation for effectiveness and success in later life. Hence, the learning experience at this stage is centred around developing the skills of phonetics, spelling and vocabulary, reading and writing, number concepts and motor skills.

The learning experience is further enriched by music, dance, drawing, painting, hobby crafts, sand & water activity, sports and games, picnics, excursions, and such other co-curricular activities. As a child starts schools/he steps out from behind the protective shadow of their parents for the first time and the school environment, with new strange faces of teachers and other students and the pressure of formal education can be daunting, so we strive to maintain an atmosphere of love and warmth and a sense of secure feeling helping the child to settle down to his lesson as quickly as possible. The objective of our Pre-Primary section is to learn from their sensory experience and inculcate in them values of life within the bounds of formal education.

The Primary and Middle school is the next step in the progression of formal education. The curriculum for this age group is designed with a scope to adapt to individual learning needs. The curriculum is broad based and flexible. The focus is once again on self-learning through sensory discovery and experience. The focus is multiple-intelligence and concepts are represented by different examples that share common attributes that will help build a sound base with appropriate attitude and skill. The teaching style is project and activity based, and theme teaching promotes cross-curriculum understanding.

As students move into senior school, they are encouraged to seek answers to their questions through research, observation, experiments, etc. they are encouraged to question, experiment and seek clarifications, so that the knowledge they gain does not remain theoretical. The students are provided opportunities to test their knowledge level and research ability by organizing workshops and seminars where they are encouraged to present papers and projects.
